1. fflonkl because ff is my real life initials, and I live in London (lon), but come from KL (kl). Hence fflonkl.
2. I am Malaysian, Muslim and Malay. In whichever way you take it.
3. Escaped the ABL (”Awak Bila Lagi” [trans. “When is it your turn?”, a question that always, but always, refers to marriage]) question in 2006, but grappling with people who keep on asking the BNB (”Bila Nak Beranak?” [trans. “When are you going to have children?”]) question instead.
4. I used to be a techie. Oh how I hated it.
5. Thankfully, I managed the Great Escape from techiedoom, and am now a producer of something or other.
6. Potatoes. Yum.
7. Especially when smothered in cream and/or cheese a la a gratin dauphinoise …
8. Rice. Three times a day? No problem. Even if it’s only with a solitary bullseye and some butter. Yes, I’ll eat it.
9. Alcohol? No thanks, but give me enough Coca-Cola (a.k.a American champagne, as one Italian man called it) and I’ll be crawling up walls and smashing jugs and stuff.
10. I LOVE books. So much so that we’re running out of space for them, and Hubby keeps on asking me if there are any that we can give away.
11. Important people who will probably get mentioned here: Hubby, the SPG and missmsg.
12. I do my best not to miss an episode of Lost and Desperate Housewives.
13. I have never lost my love for Duran Duran - and guess what, Nick Rhodes lives in my neck of woods (well, the terribly expensive and posh bit of course).
14. My favourite body part: my (piano-trained) fingers.
15. I’ve been mistaken for a Chinese (in KL by Chinese cab drivers), a Filipino, a Japanese and (bizarrely) a Spanish/Italian.
16. It took Hubby seven years before he came to his senses and realised I am the woman for him (to great relief all round!).
17. One of my favurite hobbies is procrastinating. Why do something now when you can do it later?
18. I am also very lazy.
19. In fact, one of my aunts used to call me (and somebody else but I won’t tell you who!) lembab dan malas (that’s slow and lazy to you non-Malay speakers).

A recurring theme in my dreams is being aware that I’m in the room I’m sleeping in, with one eye (and only one eye) open so I can see what’s going on, and knowing that bad things are happening, but being unable to move myself and knowing that if only I could open that other eye, I could move. This dream goes on until something wakes me up. It is very disturbing.
21. I think my first language is a mixture of English and Malay.
22. I speak three and a quarter languages: Malay, English, Malay+English (this is a language because if I spoke this at work nobody would understand me) and a quarter (or less?) of French.
23. Without my glasses, I am as blind as a bat.
24. Oh yeah, least favourite body part: hmm, it’s a close one between my eyes (talk about being rabun), my nose (typical flat Malay nose 
) and my calves (so huge that I have difficulty zipping up my boots, and when I do manage to do it, it always feels like the circulation in my legs have been cut off!).
25. I like the following places in London: Hampstead Heath, the City, King’s Road, the bit of the Thames near Richmond.
26. And in KL: Kg Baru, KLCC and Bukit Bintang. Not very original I know, but I love those places!
27. I cannot pass a mirror without looking at it and checking out how I look.
28. Yes, I’m vain.
29. I spent years battling my hair until I accepted that I am a Malay and therefore destined never to have Pantene hair.
30. People close to me have told me that I would make a very garang (fierce) mother. I don’t know why - I can’t help it if I made my nephew cry the whole afternoon once because I refused to let him stuff himself with chocolates …
31. Oh, and I used to err … chase my youngest brother round the house when he was seven to make him have his evening bath. (Maybe those people have a point.)
32. Oh yeah. Why orangjauh? Well, I’m an orang (person), and I’m jauh (far away) from home. So that’s why I’m oj.
33. Sometimes I feel like I ought to do more with my life. So many ideas in my head … but then No 17 and No 18 hit me.
