Sigh
Thank god it’s almost the weekend. The bad thing is, I can’t have an easy afternoon because I have a presentation to do for the entire department later today. Sigh.
On the plus side, I think I’m now ready for Ramadan. Insya-Allah.

More Pictures
I finally got round to uploading the pictures that I took when we were on our Easter break earlier this year (hey, better late than never!).
We went to stay with some friends who’d just bought a farm in Devon, and they took us for walks and things … plus as mentioned below, their sons have […]

OK, see those two teeny little dots near the top of this picture? Yeah, those are two walkers who were way ahead of us, and yes this was a bloody high hill!!
We had to climb […]

We stayed with friends then and they have two boys aged ten and six … and these kids have Lego! So for the first time in decades, I played Lego with Hubby and we built […]

He’s Back …
Anwar Ibrahim has won back his Permatang Pauh seat.
Well, well, well. I mean, no surprises of course. I would’ve been shocked if he’d lost.
What’s interesting is, what will the government do now?
I happen to think Pak Lah is a thoroughly decent man, if misguided and lacking in political fibre. His supporters, and his heir-apparent though […]

Obscure Olympics Sports
Whilst I do like watching the (artistic) gymnastics, I have to say, rhythmic gymnastics is in another league altogether. For a start, the competitors look like proper women (I tell you, if some of those little Chinese gymnasts are over 16, then I’m definitely under 25!). Plus they have much more bling outfits. And thick […]

How to get more medals?
Still on the Olympics … I’ve been pondering this for the past few days: Will Malaysia ever get an Olympic gold?
I’ve been reading Vijesh Rai’s blog on the Olympics (I don’t know about other overseas Malaysians out there, but it’s damned difficult seeing Malaysians in the Olympics unless it’s Lee Chong Wei - sigh - […]

Well done Chong Wei
Yes, I know he didn’t get gold. But hey, a silver medal in the Olympics is still a big deal, isn’t it? So well done Lee Chong Wei for winning Malaysia’s first ever silver medal in the men’s singles.
Yes I saw the match in its entirety and yes, I was disappointed and frustrated that Chong […]

Still on a high!
Watched the Lee Chong Wei - Lee Hyunil badminton semis in the Olympics just now, and I’m still on a high! In fact I actually delayed lunch (and made the entire team go late for lunch too!) so that I could watch the match till the end … and I’m glad I did!
What a match! […]
